Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter of Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father was an educator at school and her mother as a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick was a talented artist and singer from the age of 6. She put on shows with puppets for the neighbors. She was crowned in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to join the business of show production. McCormick got her first big task in 1964 when she starred in a TV commercial featuring Mattels newest doll Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was cast as the lead role in the play Wind It up and It breaks, a production at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the youngest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show lasted for five years. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008, McCormick told of how in the fifth season of the TV show she almost lost virginity with her twin brother Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years old, and the actor 19, at the moment. The incident would have happened, she says. However, the timing for our marriage was not the right one.
